Balance the chorus before processing
Use faders and arrangement context to identify the problem before choosing a processor.

Choose the reference section
Start with a section that contains the main elements of the song. Set a comfortable playback level and bring the lead part into focus using the faders.
Listen through the transition into that section too. A chorus can feel small because the preceding verse is too dense, rather than because the chorus needs more level.
Make one adjustment
Move one supporting part while listening to the lead. Decide whether the issue is level, timing, density or tone before opening an effect.
Use a temporary mute to identify masking. Restore the part afterward and find a balance that preserves its role instead of assuming every masking interaction needs equalization.
Check the complete song
Revisit the quieter sections after balancing the chorus. Use deliberate automation where the musical role changes between sections.
Keep a copy of the earlier balance. Compare at similar playback levels, then choose the version that communicates the song most clearly.
