Choose the drum source

Drum Berry supplies pads, kits and one-shots for MIDI-triggered parts. Fidelity uses recorded drum perspectives through its macro. They offer different ways to build a part, not an automatic difference between professional and beginner results.

Listen at the arrangement tempo. Check kick/bass interaction and note endings before adding bus processing. A drum source needs to leave room for the other parts.

Give the synth a role

Try a bass, chord or lead before collecting patches. FB-60, Nana, FB-985 and FB-XD provide different documented synthesis surfaces. Their names do not imply identical modulation, voice or import features.

Audition the patch across the notes and velocities you intend to play. If a release masks the next chord or bass level changes awkwardly across notes, adjust the part and envelope before adding another effect.

  1. Choose one drum source.
  2. Write a complementary pitched part.
  3. Save the useful patch and performance.

Claim and install the real release

Claim the free collection through its account flow. Each product has an individual licence. Free does not mean an anonymous public installer or support for every host and operating system.

Check the product page for available Windows VST3 or Mac VST3/AU installers. Compare additional processing only for a named benefit. Check wide patches in mono, and keep the working session saved.

Side-by-side comparison of related plug-ins

Compare the Fat Berry DSP plug-ins referenced in this guide by price, category, formats, and primary studio role. Every licence is a perpetual single-user licence (3 machine activations, 14-day full refund policy).

References and comparison method

An explanatory guide based on the linked product specifications and host documentation. Suggested listening steps are a method for your session, not a report of a controlled experiment. Behaviour depends on the release, source and settings.

Use the actual product controls, compare at similar playback loudness and check the result in the arrangement. Settings and behaviour vary by recording and software release.
