For a bass or lead, select a bank and move Position X/Y slowly on a repeated note. Find a region whose static tone fits the part, then set the amplitude envelope and filter around that choice.

A large wave library is useful for selection, not a reason to scan through every position during a phrase. Keep a stable pitch and articulation reference before adding more unison, detune or bit-related texture.

Use an envelope-to-grid amount for a change that follows each note, or Grid Motion for a path continuing over time. Compare Orbit, Drift, Figure Eight, Spiral and Wander on the same held passage.

Set depth and rate so the motion has a destination the arrangement can use. A slowly changing pad can support a scene; a permanently restless bass may make the groove less definite. Revisit the movement after the drums and harmony are present.

Introduce Osc B at a restrained Osc Mix and choose whether it should add a harder edge, a more physical decay or a broader texture. Timbre and Colour have model-dependent roles, so compare them after selecting the model.
