Highlights

Why Inflated Ego.

What it is
A loudness and density plug-in for making things feel bigger without a limiter.
What it does
Effect and Curve thicken the signal, Boost and Character add harmonics on top, and Clip catches peaks when you push it hard.
What it sounds like
Fuller and more forward, with more weight in the low mids and more presence up top. Push it and it gets dense and a little crunchy.

Inflated Ego in use

Inflated Ego separates its main waveshaping stage from an additional harmonic stage.

For engineers

How it works.

Build density with Effect and Curve

On a vocal or instrument stem, raise Effect gradually with Curve near its centre. Compare the quieter portions as well as the loudest hits: useful density should help the part hold its place without making every moment equally forceful.

Move Curve only after you understand Effect on that source. Then trim Output and listen in the complete arrangement. Additional harmonics can make a sound appear brighter or more forward without an equaliser boost.

Use Boost as a separate colour choice

Return Effect to zero and explore Boost with Character. Compare the IRON and AIR directions on bass, electric piano or synth, keeping the output comparable. This separates the additional harmonic stage from the main waveshaping decision.

Once each stage has a clear purpose, combine them conservatively. If the bass gains definition but loses its note shape, reduce one contribution instead of compensating with another gain increase.

Create a changing texture in the host

For a parallel drum or guitar texture, send a copy to a separate host channel containing Inflated Ego and blend that channel beneath the original. The plugin has no public Mix control, so the host return is where this balance belongs.

Automate the send for a fill, accent or transition. Clip is an input-stage clipping option ahead of Effect, so check the final processed output with a true-peak meter. Watch the output and match level again after changing the treatment.

Questions

Something else? Contact support

Does Inflated Ego have automatic gain matching?
There is no public Auto Gain control. Adjust Output for the comparison and judge the part at similar apparent loudness.
Can I change oversampling or a band split?
The eight-control public surface has no quality, band-split or M/S selector. Internal implementation choices are not additional panel controls.
What does Clip do?
It enables clipping ahead of the main Effect stage. Subsequent processing and output gain still need appropriate headroom.
What happens when the trial ends?
When the trial ends the plug-in stops processing audio until you buy it. Sessions still open, and buying needs no reinstall.
Can I get my money back?
Yes. On top of your statutory rights, there's a 14-day money-back guarantee. Read the refund policy
