FB-2823 in use

FB-2823 pairs two oscillators, ring modulation, noise and sample-and-hold with a high-pass filter and four low-pass models.

For engineers

How it works.

Choose the filter before chasing the cutoff

The model selection changes the low-pass behaviour, so compare models on the same simple oscillator sound. Establish cutoff, resonance and envelope amount first, then add drive where the phrase benefits from a more assertive edge.

The high-pass sits before the low-pass. On a layered arrangement, use it to make room below a midrange part; on a bass patch, keep checking that the fundamental still supplies the weight you need.

Make modulation serve the rhythm

A short envelope can turn noise or a bright oscillator blend into a percussive stab. Sample-and-hold adds stepped movement, with lag available to soften the steps into a less abrupt change.

Use the arpeggiator or sequencer for note timing and keep the modulation's purpose separate: one can establish the groove while the other varies brightness or pitch between repetitions.

Open the stereo field deliberately

FB Morph and FB Spread belong to the FB filter model. Morph changes its slope, while Spread introduces differences between its stereo paths; these controls do not turn the Rev models into stereo filters.

For pads or exposed chords, combine a restrained FB Spread setting with a slower envelope and a little voice drift. For a focused bass, start with a narrow sound and add width only after hearing it alongside the kick.

Questions

Something else? Contact support

Do FB Morph and FB Spread work with every filter model?
They are specific to the FB model. Rev I, Rev II and Rev III have their own low-pass implementations.
Does Glide measure milliseconds per octave?
The current Glide parameter is a time constant displayed in milliseconds. It is not an interval-scaled milliseconds-per-octave control.
Can I use a conventional MIDI keyboard?
Yes. MPE support is available, but ordinary MIDI playing remains useful. Set the controller mode and pitch-bend behaviour to match the way you intend to perform.
What happens when the trial ends?
When the trial ends the plug-in stops processing audio until you buy it. Sessions still open, and buying needs no reinstall.
Can I get my money back?
Yes. On top of your statutory rights, there's a 14-day money-back guarantee. Read the refund policy
