Knee Verb in use

Knee Verb offers three different reverb engines: Plate, Spring and Church.

For engineers

How it works.

Give a vocal a plate without hiding the words

Choose Plate and keep Dry/Wet restrained while finding a Decay that fits the gap between phrases. Increase Pre-delay only enough to distinguish the start of the word from the arrival of the space.

Use Damper to compare the plate's upper decay. If the return competes with consonants or snare brightness, shape the wet path rather than darkening the complete source. Recheck the longest held word as well as the first transient.

Let the spring respond to the performance

On clean guitar or electric piano, choose Spring and compare Drive on gentle notes and hard accents. A setting that sounds interesting on one hit may become too forceful over a whole chord pattern.

The spring Drive and the separate input colour are different operations. Input Gain above its neutral region also drives an input-colour stage; use the selected engine's control for its particular response and compare at a similar output level.

Place a sustained sound further away

Choose Church on a pad, brass phrase or held guitar texture and compare Distance with a suitable Decay. Keep the dry contribution audible while deciding where the part should sit, then use wet EQ or dynamics if the tail fills too much of the arrangement.

Decay's percentage has engine-specific behaviour rather than a universal seconds scale. The larger Church settings also change the spatial character. Hear the full tail before choosing a transition or ending.

Questions

Something else? Contact support

Does every engine have Damper, Drive and Distance?
Those controls belong to Plate, Spring and Church respectively. They are not three identical tone controls available across every engine.
Does the rack leave the dry signal completely unchanged?
Its wet-path EQ and dynamics precede the dry return, but input colour and the final output processing still need consideration. Use Bypass for the untreated reference.
Is there a Hall engine?
The three available engines are Plate, Spring and Church. Larger Church settings provide the corresponding larger-space direction.
What happens when the trial ends?
When the trial ends the plug-in stops processing audio until you buy it. Sessions still open, and buying needs no reinstall.
Can I get my money back?
Yes. On top of your statutory rights, there's a 14-day money-back guarantee. Read the refund policy
